Ruby Group are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join a multinational business located in central London. Reporting to the financial controller you will be a key member of the hotel finance leadership team and deputise for the Hotel Financial Controller as and when required.
The role is responsible for the day to day completion of hotel accounting activities, including month end reporting, and provides support to the Financial Controller on Budgeting & Forecasting and Statutory Reporting. Your responsibilities will be; Preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal postings, accruals & prepayments, monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations. Managing the day to day transactional finance activities including income audit, AP and AR. Provide support to the Hotel FC in the preparation of annual budgets and weekly & monthly forecasts. Ensuring the accuracy of hotel ledgers and compliance with the accounting practices and procedures as required by corporate policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting practices. Completion of internal control reviews and taking action to address any weaknesses identified. Providing support to internal and external auditors Attend & provide financial support & guidance at HOD meetings, as and when required, including payroll meetings and revenue meetings etc. Maximising cashflow performance and managing procedures on inventory, credit & collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances. Identifying opportunities to improve the effectiveness & efficiency of existing processes and procedure. Supports the development and implementation of Group wide finance system & process change projects.
The ideal applicant will be educated to degree level and be at least part qualified in ACCA or CIMA. You must have at least 5 years experience working within finance. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to lead teams. Hospitality experience will be advantageous.
