Assistant Accountant

Page Personnel are currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant for a rapidly expanding, family owned, International Retail and Distribution business based outside Harrogate.

Client Details

The client is a family owned business that have grown quickly over a 10 year period to now distributing worldwide. With a Head Office based just outside Harrogate this is a fantastic company to join as a key member of the finance department as an Assistant Accountant.

Description

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be reporting into the CFO, your duties will include however are not limited to:

• Month end tasks for companies in the UK, USA and Canada
• Accruals and prepayments
• Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable foreign currency balances
• Stock movement calculation and reconciliation
• Preparation of draft management accounts including variance analysis
• Invoice generation, analysis and account reconciliation for major online customers
• Confidential Invoice Discounting reporting and reconciliation
• Updating cash books
• Monitoring major account shipments & delivery charges
• Oversee aged debt and credit control for non-major accounts
• Credit control for major customer accounts
• Reconcile UK card sales
• Quarterly VAT return and EC sales return

Profile

The successful candidate will:

• Have worked in a month end role previously
• Work well within a small but busy finance team
• Be able to challenge commercial decisions
• Be a strong communicator

Job Offer

Salary up to £25,000 + study support (if required) + 28 days holiday + pension + on site parking
