Morgan McKinley are hiring for a Financial Accountant to join our clients large finance team located in Sydney CBD. This listed retail business have an excellent reputation in the market and encourage internal promotion to more senior and commercial roles.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role will allow you to gain hands on accounting experience in a dynamic finance team. You will gain exposure to both month and year end duties alongside assisting with budgeting and bi monthly forecasting.
Your core duties will be:
Responsible for all month end accounting duties including the preparation of journals, accruals and prepayments for the overall company along with WIP Statements
Assist in the preparation of monthly division reporting packs including providing commentary on results where necessary
Liaise with assigned budget owners to improve processes and procedures around month end
Assist the Finance Manager with the budgeting and forecasting process
Complete balance sheet reconciliations within set deadlines
Assist in the preparation of year-end audit files and analysis.
Continuously review processes and procedures as systems and business requirements evolve
Preparation of BAS, FBT and GST
Ad Hoc requirements and projects as required.

About you
Ideally you will be CA/CPA Qualified coming from a either a Big 4 Environment or from a retail/media business
You will also have:
Experience in Month end accounting and variance analysis

Experience completing financial statement's
