ISG is seeking to hire a Business Services Financial Analyst in Detroit, Michigan to provide project support in the many areas such as financial analysis, establishing budgets, forecasts, general ledger accounting and reconciliation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience, interest and aptitude in business, technology, and analytics
  • Understanding of and experience with financial software (ex.
    SAP) and financial concepts
  • Financial Reporting/Forecasting experience
  • Financial modeling expertise a plus
  • Strong knowledge of the MS–Office suite of software applications, including: Word and PowerPoint.
    Excellent capabilities with MS–Excel (examples: VLook–up, Macros, Pivot Tables)
  • Proven written and oral communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and a strong record of leadership in a work setting or team environment
  • Experience applying strong organizational skills in a matrixed environment
  • Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are required
  • Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques required
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, can–do attitude
  • Independent worker and analytical thinker with an ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
  • Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree – degrees in information systems, computer science, finance or business administration are desirable, but all disciplines will be considered
  • Travel:
  • >5% travel may be required.
    Any travel will be domestic.
  • Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform financial analysis, assisting to establish budgets and forecasts based on an analysis of consumption, trends and directions, research/data gathering, solicit data input, validate and review complex information
  • Execute reconciliations, monthly reporting and report production, daily modeling, analysis and reporting and financial analysis
  • Perform quality assurance of budgets and forecasts for clients and ISG teams.
  • Validate supplier invoices against agreed upon prices and quantities
  • Liaise with the client finance team to provide timely reporting and responses to ad hoc requests and be the primary point of contact for issues and questions
  • Demonstrate appropriate understanding / working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls
  • Responsible for the day– to–day general ledger accounting and reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas
  • Research and resolve Business Unit(s) inquiries for assigned functional areas.
  • Engage in the process that provides the Governance structure required to manage all aspects of the client's supplier contracts, supplier performance and the overall relationships.
  • Work with colleagues to analyze, review, record and report on Supplier compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Assist clients with supplier evaluations, assessments and strategy engagements.
  • Assist clients and ISG teams with preparation of base case, business case models, pricing evaluations and various scenario analyses.
  • Provide some project management–type support to ISG teams, such as updating of project plans, preparing project status reports and maintaining risk and issues logs.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in written and oral formats
  • Attend client meetings and maintain the upmost professional demeanor at all times
  • Assist in the preparation of client presentations and reports, and to a lesser degree, identify opportunities to expand ISG's client relationships.
