Company - Leading supplier of construction equipment
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Accounts/ Finance Assistant to join a team of 6 to work at the Head Office of our client, a national toll hire supplier based in the Harrogate area.
You will be responsible for bank account operations and accounting processes and participate in other Shared Service Centre processes, working as part of a tight knit team.
Main duties include:
- Ownership of procedures for cashbooks, bank accounts and petty cash.
- Administer requests for payments - initiate and record transactions, following prescribed procedures, within given deadlines.
- Operate and improve your own share of accounting processes, providing valid balance sheet support where appropriate.
- Ensure continuous improvement in key accounting processes, with the aim of reducing non value added time.
Requirements:
Academic qualifications:
- Minimum O-level/GCSE in Maths and English
- Some progress in AAT or other financial qualification preferable. As a minimum, willingness to progress in this respect (study support provided).
Knowledge/background:
- Must have some experience of procedures in a finance environment.
- Must have good degree of competence in Microsoft Excel and be willing to learn how to use other IT systems.
- Experience of bank reconciliations would be an advantage
Hours - 8.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am-4.30pm Friday
Location - Harrogate
Salary: £19K + bonus
