Are you an IPASS qualified Payroll Manager with client facing and people management experience? Do you have strong commercial acumen with the ability to win and retain business? Role We are seeking to hire an experienced Payroll Manager to work on our client services payroll team which is part of our People Services group, within our Tax Practice. We ideally need you to have the following: A minimum of five years' experience in a payroll position of a supervisory nature; IPASS or similar qualification; Strong knowledge and understanding of payroll taxes; Proven record in implementing payroll procedures/processes; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a small team; Strong supervisory skills and ability to manage, co-ordinate and oversee the teams daily workflow Experience working in client service environment High level of accuracy and attention to detail; Customer focused and relationship focused; Logical approach to problem solving and decision-making. A third level diploma/degree or relevant qualification would be ideal e.g. Accounting Technician, Tax Technician etc. Employment tax qualification or experience desirable Excellent experience at managing / reviewing multiple complex payrolls Proven track record at managing tight turnaround times with ability to meet strict deadlines You will have a varied role. Below will be some of your core responsibilities: Review and manage complex weekly and monthly payrolls for high profile clients; Work closely with our employment tax colleagues in relation to all payroll related matters; Manage and oversee the workflow of the payroll team i.e. reviewing work, allocating work load, managing resources and assessing performance; Manage new client set up, i.e. perform data migration and implementation, develop bespoke reports, conduct payroll testing and parallel runs; Manage and resolve payroll software issues; Implement a number of payroll initiatives in order to streamline the payroll process; Focus on continuous improvement and standardisation of payroll operations and systems; Conduct payroll operational effectiveness /payroll process reviews for clients and make recommendations for improvements; Focus on marketing within the payroll department with a view to ultimately growing the payroll department; Assist with PAYE reviews, due diligences etc. within the wider tax practice; To present to management and clients on payroll related matters. Team: As the successful candidate, you will be part of KPMG's People Services, tax management group. You will be responsible for overseeing the workflow of a team of 4 payroll professionals and will work alongside your employment tax colleagues advising on complex payroll related matters. These range from employment tax and compliance advice for employers, to assisting employees as they move around the world on expatriate assignments.
