  • Discussing and resolving issues with the appropriate credit analyst, the Credit Risk team and the CRO
  • Highlighting risk issues and ensuring that all relevant points are reflected in a Risk team comment on each set of monitoring information presented by the Credit and Investments team
  • Ensuring that credit classification status is accurately tracked and that credit and concentration limits are adhered to, including keeping relevant departments informed of changes
  • Recommending names for off-cycle review based on market, industry or name-specific developments

The periodic review runs to a monthly cycle, with an additional level of depth once a quarter. This will include:

  • Identifying key names for the most detailed review
  • Monitoring exposures for any significant increases of credit risk (“SICR”) and non-performing exposure (“Default”) triggers.
  • Ensuring that meeting materials are accurate and sufficient to allow the Committee to make informed decisions on the appropriate course of action and discussing with others in advance as above
  • Updating credit classification status
  • Making recommendations for credit provisioning or write-off if appropriate
  • Responding to ad hoc requests from Senior Management and external stakeholders and undertaking project work as and when requested

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining an accurate portfolio dataset of financial information on the borrowers in the portfolio for IFRS9 reporting purposes and undertaking the independent review of corporate credits throughout their life cycle. The management of the IFRS9 credit dataset will involve second line of defense validation of information for inclusion in Moody's RiskCalc model. The selected candidate will be expected to take ownership of the accuracy of the data and be the primary point of contact/‘local champion' for this portfolio data and providing recommendations on credit classifications and IFRS9 staging criteria.

Required knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Strong fundamental corporate credit skills
  • Willing to work on own initiative
  • A strong academic record or equivalent experience
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office, particularly with advanced Microsoft Excel
  • A background in credit risk/financial statement analysis preferably in the Corporate Lending space
  • Experience of formal credit risk management techniques
  • Knowledge of Moody's RiskCalc/KMV and the ability to apply methodological practices and a consistent approach to data analysis are highly desirable
  • Knowledge of European leveraged finance transactions will be considered an asset
