This is a national organisation that saves lives every day. Based in Yorkshire and the Humber, the base is currently accessible from most of West Yorkshire and will in 2 years move to just on the border with South Yorkshire just off the M1 junction 37.
Description
As Senior Financial Accountant you will have a varied role and use your accountancy skills to deliver across a number of key areas including:
- Leading the financial accounting team as a role model to create a culture of continuous improvement.
- The timely provision of management accounts and data to ensure that the information provided to the Board and contained within the year end annual accounts is accurate and provides a true and fair view of the financial position.
- Completeness and accuracy of the fixed asset information system and the transfer and reconciliation of financial information from the fixed asset system to the General Ledger.
- Completion of year end accounts to accounting standards and to a standard for audit with appropriate working papers to support key figures and calculations.
- Forecasting and monitoring cash position to give the Board a realistic and achieved year end cash position.
- Senior level oversight and understanding in all VAT areas.
- Technical accounting advice. Interpret and implement new IFRS developments and standards. Provide technical updates, training, advice, support and consult stake holders in relation to technical accounting complex issues and policy issues.
Profile
Candidates will be qualified (ACA / CIMA / ACCA / CIPFA ) and will have a strong track record within technical accountancy within a large and complex organisation.
As Senior Financial Accountant there will be occasional travel in and sometimes outside the Yorkshire and the Humber region with occasional (notice given) overnight stays so candidates must be able to accommodate some infrequent changes to a regular work location.
