My client, the European division of an international retail business are looking for a French Finance Manager to head up their finance division. The business has grown in recent times and have taken on a new MD to help drive this business unit forward.
The accounting processes and reporting functions are not yet up to scratch. Consequently they are looking for a French Finance Manager with the necessary knowledge and capabilities to implement them.
Client Details
The client have their warehouse and back office functions based in Harlow. They are a market leader in their field and are looking to grow into further markets. They are ambitious and want to continue their growth but understand the importance of having an accounting function that can compensate for their planned expansion.
The business has two people already within the finance team, but need someone to put in place the structures and processes that will help them grow moving forward. That is what the successful French Finance manager will ideally do.
Description
Charged with building the Finance Function and implementing processes alongside producing a set of management some of the main duties for the Finance Manager will be:
- Managing a team of two full time and one part time finance staff
- Overseeing and interacting with all staff involved in the financial operations of the company
- Preparation of full Monthly management accounts
- Ensure inter-group company balances are reconciled on a monthly basis
- Assistance, preparation and submission of VAT Returns and Intrastat
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Stock management to ensure sufficient economic order quantities
- Preparation of budgets and cashflow forecasts commencing 2018
- Implementing and formalising internal policies and procedures
- Executing strategies to minimise risks
- Reconciling all bank and control accounts
- Liaising with parent company in the USA
- Preparing the payroll on a monthly basis
- Dealing with the foreign currency requirements of the business
- Preparing specialist financial reports for the General Manager and Directors including collating, analysing and summarising all relevant information and trends
Profile
The successful candidate will
- Have some experience of change management
- Be comfortable supervising
- Have a willingness to implement new processes
- Have a strong background in financial accounting
- Demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Be an approachable team player with good communication skills
- Have the ability to act at all times with confidentiality
- Excellent financial, management and IT skills
- Experience of liaising with external Accountants
