Assistant Accountant - Bedford - £28-32,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join friendly company based in Bedford. We are looking for an immediately available or very short notice experienced Assistant Accountant

Duties will include

• Preparing Management and Financial Accounts
• Prepare and post monthly journals
• Profit and loss preparation
• Assisting in preparation of year end audits and completing statutory accounts
• Preparation of VAT returns
• All bookkeeping duties (sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger and nominal ledger)
• Maintaining the General Ledger
• Monthly Payroll

Skills/experience needed:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail skills
• Proven experience of financial systems
• Proven experience in dealing with cash book, reconciliations and expenses
• Proven experience of business transactions and its effect on accounts, P/L and balance sheet
• Purchase ledger experience and Credit control experience
• Good level of computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
