Operations Analyst - Reversals & Corrections
Summary
In this role you will have a unique opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the functional capabilities required to provide mitigation and timely resolution within the corrections and reversals processing solution. The key objective of this role is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the processing related to all corrective activities
You will build upon your existing Operations knowledge and utilise your strong analytical & problem solving expertise. To be successful in this role you will you will pride yourself upon your excellent attention to detail & high level of accuracy.You will enjoy building collaborative working relationships with other areas of the business along with external clients.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate corrective processing of monetary and non-monetary client requests.
- Ensure timely execution of corrective trading activity on client related trades as well as provide fast and complete resolution to any trades.
- Handle multi-currency transactions related to both internal SIEL and external third party assets.
- Ensure accurate client corrective processing and provide value added servicing including the escalation of client related processing issues to team lead.
- Manage own workflow queues to complete all items - internal and external requests raised to correct same day.
- Ensure SEI error house accounts are reconciled and funded at regular intervals.
- Ensure that all procedures are maintained and documented to reflect the current processes.
- Assist line manager with ideas and production around key MIS information.
- Support the establishment of the operating environment responsible for corrections and reversals processing functions.
- Maintenance and updating of internal systems/ data reference points in agreed format to ensure consistency and communication of relevant information within the team and ensure integrity of data.
Risk and Controls:
- QA daily workload to identify underlying reason for us to evaluate errors, provide feedback, help identify trends and contributing factors and recommend solutions.
- Escalate any issues to Senior/Supervisor immediately.
- Ensure procedures are up to date, complete and accurate.
- Develop basic understanding of UK C&R Process and in-depth understanding of the department's with upstream/downstream impacts in relation to Trade Executions and Free of payment movements.
Internal / external clients:
- Liaise with operating and business units as required to resolve processing problems as they arise
- Cultivate and maintain close external clients' relationships
- Build and maintain relationships with Firms via client service teams, brokers and custodians to ensure SLA/KPI are being consistently met
Projects:
- Provide recommendations for improvement around processes and controls to make them scalable and sustainable
- Participate in team projects to improve the current processes and/or systems.
Best Practice:
- Keep Current - (market conditions, regulation, SEI products and services, etc) and maintain ongoing and effective communication and alignment of these with client business practices.
- Adhere to all relevant FCA requirements and compliance.
- Participate in any other ad hoc projects as required.
Technical Capabilities/Skills & Experience Required for the Role:
- Demonstrable experience, with substantial exposure to corrections and reversals processing operations, in the following:
- As an operations user, analyst, or technical specialist supporting investment processing applications or accounting systems.
- Have an understanding of how processing is supported within Operations for several of following areas; Global Securities Custody, Trade Processing and Settlement, Foreign Exchange, Fees, Corporate Action and Income, Reporting (Statements, Performance & Taxes), Reconcilement and Currency processes and functions.
- Knowledge of global securities processing, participants, and industry standard formats
- Knowledge of security types including equity, fixed income and funds.
- Knowledge of investment vehicles including registered funds, hedge funds, separate accounts and private accounts a plus.
- Understanding of relational database technology and workflow a plus.
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Highly motivated, with a willingness to embrace and drive change.
- Strong problem-solving expertise and proven ability to think creatively and seek optimum solutions.
- Analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to analyse technical, business and financial issues and options.
- Detailed orientated.
- Excellent time management skills.
