Do work that matters

As Team Leader, you will have oversight in ensuring that corporate action events are processed and recorded accurately within HiPortfolio and that the Colonial First State (CFS) investment records reflect those of the custodian. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop a team of Corporate Action analysts.

See yourself in our team

The key activities of the Corporate Actions team are to review, understand & process corporate action events for both domestic and international equity securities, including but not limited to dividend entitlements, placements, rights issues, takeovers, splits, capital reconstructions and bonus issues.

On any given week you will
  • Monitor market sources in BaNCs and custodians to identify upcoming corporate actions and changes in event terms or key dates
  • Review and document CA process improvements and procedures
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness processing of all corporate actions events
  • Ad hoc projects as required for CA and Investment Operations
  • Maintenance of corporate action events to completion and ensuring all documentation are captured to meet GS007 framework
  • Respond to any queries resulting from the corporate action events
  • Review and authorise Fund Managers instructions to custodians
  • Prepare of management reporting and KPI statistics

We're interested in hearing from people who
  • A relevant tertiary qualification e.g. in Business, Accounting or Commerce would be highly regarded
  • Experience and knowledge with the processing and settlement of corporate action transactions
  • User knowledge of HiPortfolio, Bloomberg, BaNCS and custodians systems
  • Planning and organising skills, particularly the ability to organise and coordinate the workflows of others
  • Procedure and report writing skills
  • Good understanding of Withholding Tax and reclaim process as well as an understanding of the tax consequences of corporate actions
