Senior Financial Accountant

We are looking for a Qualified Accountant to join on a 12 month Fixed term contract for a maternity-cover period, but there’s sure to be other opportunities at the end of the term if you prove yourself.

Reporting to the Finance Controller this is a hands-on Financial Control & Reporting role that will suit someone who enjoys the technical side of Accounting, but will also enjoy the pace and variety of an exciting ‘start-up’.

The Job:

• Financial accounting - responsibility for delivery of monthly, quarterly, half yearly and year-end reporting

• Support the delivery of statutory accounts

• Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, reconciled and reported

• Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and accounting treatments

• Ensuring the integrity of the financial statements

• P&L analytical review, Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations, impairment reviews and fixed asset audits

• Key point of contact for external advisors, internal and external auditors and internal stakeholders

• Preparation of VAT other tax related returns within deadline

• Ensuring adherence to company’s budget and authority limits

• Responsible for general Accounts Payable duties and support the payroll process

• Review current processes and oversee implementation and development of systems and internal controls to required standards

• Reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required

The Experience Needed:

• Qualified accountant with at least 3 years PQE (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• Degree or equivalent

• Technical knowledge gained from an audit background

• Ideally experience within Financial Services / Banking but NOT essential

• Track record of delivering financial reporting under pressure and to tight deadlines

• Strong analytical skills
