Financial Controller

NOW Careers is recruiting on behalf of an SME business which has ambitious growth plans over the coming years and subsequently have an exciting new position for a hands-on Financial Controller to join their busy and dynamic team based in Porth.

This role will ideally suit a Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant who is looking for a progressive role where they can add real value.

The successful candidate should be a confident and organised individual, with good spoken and written communication skills.

My client is able to pay a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 per annum DOE

Duties will include -

Responsibilities

• Financial accounting and reporting
• Production of monthly management accounts including timely ledger posting of month end journals
• Assisting with the implementation of IT systems and internal control processes.
• Management of the accounts team
• Developing budgets and project costings
• Managing VAT and HMRC remittances
• Ad hoc project and process improvement work as required
• Support with the annual financial statement audit process
• To work with the Billing & Credit Control Manager to manage the customer credit control (debt) function to ensure that debt levels are within the KPI targets.

Experience / Skills Required

• Part qualified/ Qualified (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA)
• Previous accounting and finance experience
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process and creating monthly financial statements
• Direct experience in managing industry credit cover/credit control functions
• Excellent Excel Skills
• Sage 50 experience
• Experience of cash flow planning
• Experience in this industry would be advantageous

Working hours will be Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
