Accounts Assistant
Our client is a small but growing bespoke brick supplier.
Supplying bricks to order on specialist projects across UK and Ireland, eg the Shard in London, sourcing these from the UK and the continent.
Sales Team x 3 - remote based, but do spend some time in office
Office Manager/Sales Administrators x2/ Accounts Assistant - office based
Operating from a small rural unit in Colgate, the Company has outperformed the current market in the last few years.
Job Description
Sales
-
Generate sales invoices
-
Despatch invoices, and file hard and e-copies
-
Monthly customer statements
-
Month end processing on OGL (Accounts system)
-
Pro-forma invoices, maintain log, and identify receipts, notifying Sales Administrators
-
Invoice/credit customers for currency fluctuation if needed
Credit control
-
Co-ordinate new credit applications
-
Credit check customers, potential and existing
-
Maintain monitoring of specific customers with credit vetting company
-
Credit control chasing, letters, phonecalls and emails
-
Respond to customer query’s as appropriate, keep Rep’s informed
-
Obtain POD’s
-
Update Accountant with Remittances
-
Update Managing Director with Aged Debtors regularly

Bank cheques received
Purchases
-
Update accounts system with goods received, allocating stock
-
Process supplier invoices against Purchase Orders, ensuring correct nominal code and Rep
-
Order stationary, refreshments, PPE , [non-stock items] etc

Ensure value for money on Non-stock items, obtaining multiple quotes as appropriate
Sundry

Supporting Sales Admin Team as needed

Answering phones in office

Archiving and filing

General office duties
Candidate
Excellent with Word/ExcelPrevious experience of stock based accounting system for sales and purchases
Credit control experience
Good telephone skills
Accuracy
Attention to detail
Mature in character and confident
Robust personality
Good organisational and priority skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to work in pressured environment
Enjoy small office environment
Flexible approach to working
Own car and able to drive to the office as no public transport in the area.
Terms:
Hours: Lunch break: Holidays: Parking: Salary:
37.5 hrs per week, Monday - Friday: 08.30 - 17.00
1 hour Lunch
20 days pa, after 2 yrs increases by 1 day per year thereafter, to max of 25 days. plus bank holidays
£23K Salary
Paid on last Friday of each month
Auto-enrolment compliant: rising to 3% contributions to personal pension after 6 months
Pension:
Probationary period: 3 months
