Senior Accountant, City of London
Roles and Duties
- Maintain confidentiality of information at all times
- Ensure any financial irregularities are brought directly to the attention of the Controller
- Maintain up to date accounting records for each entity for which responsible
- Ensure the proper close of the monthly books including the preparation of balance sheets
- Carry out reconciliations and the proof of sundry accounts on a monthly basis, in accordance with the reporting timetable
- Prepare timely and accurate weekly and monthly financial and management reports and analyses to the Controller:
- Daily and weekly receivable reporting
- Weekly revenue reporting in conjunction with the Field Co-ordinator
- Monthly operational reporting including Project P&Ls
- Quarterly bonus and commission calculations
- Reconcile the payroll payments to the expected and planned charge
- Produce the consolidated weekly accounts receivable report ensuring that Front End is kept up to date with the position of client receivables
- Work on ad-hoc projects for the Controller as requested
- Pro-actively work with unit management and field personnel to provide them with the highest levels of support
- Prepare annual and semi-annual reporting in accordance with group instructions and to meet timetable
- Organise supporting documents in a structured manner, ensuring all necessary documents are kept for the required period of time
- Follow group accounting procedures and policies
- Communicate with the rest of the Finance team on a proactive basis,
- Work with Group tax department to ensure tax filings are made, as required and on a timely basis
- Maximise the benefits of the financial IT platforms
- Provide proactive support to more senior members of the Finance department on a regular basis
- Work closely with external Advisors (where applicable) to provide them with information in an efficient and timely fashion
- Maintain a constructive and proper relationship with the auditors
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to the role so as to most appropriately meet business needs
- Show initiative in order to improve efficiency and upgrade quality of reporting
Profile
The successful candidate must be immediately available and can interview at short notice.
Candidates must be studying towards their CIMA/ACCA qualifications
Job Offer
The successful candidate will be paid between £16 - 18 per hour depending on experience.
