The Opportunity Our Client is a Leading Financial Banking Institute which offers a wide range of services including Corporate, Commercial and Business Banking, Private Banking and Treasury & Capital Markets. This is a 12 month contract opportunity for a qualified Accountant who has had exposure to Hedge Accounting and Project Management, within one of Ireland's Leading Financial Services Institute. This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to gain unqualified experience in the area of Hedge Accounting in a Reputable firm, as well as offering an attractive Salary Package. The Role This role will be responsible for the implementation of Hedge accounting processes and effectiveness testing for various forms of documented hedging. This role will be part of the Finance team but will require liaison with other stakeholders, Treasury/Risk, as required. Responsibilities Develop and implement hedge accounting solutions in a banking environment Operationalise hedge effectiveness testing in particular for Macro Fair Value and Cash Flow hedging Support the development of relevant reporting for Finance/Treasury/Risk Work collaboratively with Finance and other departmental colleagues to achieve common outcome Ensure local hedging aligns to the Group approach (Group forum/guidance in place) Documentation of process and procedures as required. Requirements Qualified accountant Strong knowledge of treasury products Strong working knowledge of IAS 39 hedging guidance (general knowledge of IFRS 9 hedging is sufficient at this point) Experience in developing and implementation of hedge accounting in a banking environment Experience of and ability to operationalise hedge effectiveness testing Strong communication skills with an ability to deal with all levels in a confident and professional
