A leading global, multi-disciplined engineering and construction company are looking for Senior Financial Accountant with at least 3-5 years post qualification experience to join their expanding team due to business growth.
This is a full Time role with a salary of circa £70k a year dependant on your PQ experience, based in the North West London area.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Group Financial Controller and Head of Group Reporting to provide the right level of challenge, analysis and interpretation of actual and forecasted financial data.
The Senior Financial Accountant will be a business partner and will work closely with the Record to Report team located in the Shared Service Centre.
Establish and maintain relationships with functional heads and key contacts in the Shared Service Centre.
Liaise with FP&A in preparation of the annual budgets and quarterly reports.
Accountable for the preparation of monthly management accounts for the group, subsidiaries or related parties as per the allocation of activities.
Ownership of preparation of management information as per agreed timing and frequency.
Ownership of specific month end tasks such as overhead reporting for Functional and Business Leads.
Assist with the analytical review of month end results against budget/forecast for discussion with the Group Financial Controller, Head of Group Reporting and stakeholders as required.
Prepare journals as part of month end process or to correct errors.
Applying appropriate financial control and governance by adhering to the group accounting manual, policies and control framework, to support successful external audit outcomes.
Supporting the group audit and compliance programme.
Develop and sustain good working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues.
To provide analysis, data and explanations as requested for the statutory and regulatory financial reporting.
Acting as a champion of continual business improvement through incremental change and innovation
As required run meetings, draft communication to key stakeholders, training those impacted by process change and support the Head of Group Reporting as required.
Review monthly reconciliations.
Ad-hoc financial reporting, analysis and decision support as needed.
Required qualifications:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a minimum of 3/5 years PQE, working in a commercial business
Knowledge of IFRS15 and FRS102
Understanding of complex contracts
Practical working knowledge of Project Accounting
Good working knowledge of MS Office products and Finance ERP systems
Excellent bookkeeping and reconciliation skills
Worked in a large organisation of a similar size and structure
Desirable Experience:
Construction Industry knowledge or industries with complex contractual arrangements
Experience of using Power BI and data warehouses
Exposure to VAT returns, PSA returns and completing corporation tax packs
Use of Dynamics AX
Experience of accounting for joint arrangements/ventures
