Temporary Finance Manager - URGENT

Our client, based in Newry, are a not for profit organisation providing invaluable care to service users. They have an immediate requirement for a Finance Manager (senior qualified accountant with managerial experience) to cover a period of sickness for three month, possibly longer. Working with and reporting to the Chief Executive & the board, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating a small finance team whilst reporting regularly on the organisations finance. Below is an overview of responsibilities which is not exhaustive. You will have overall responsibility for the finance function, allocating & coordinating work load across two primary department functions. You will prioritise and optimise the work load effectively whilst maximising resources. Responsibilities include: Production of timely, legible and accurate accounts and financial information; Maintaining a budgetary system across the various departments and liaising with Management on a regular basis to ensure tight budgetary control and variance reporting; Developing a stock inventory control system across the organisation; Production of annual statutory accounts; Responsible for accounting for 2 subsidiaries; Resource Management; Liaising with internal managers ensuring effective relationship manager pertaining to resources; Promote an awareness of cost control across the departments and support others to use resources efficiently and in a sustainable manner giving individual responsibility to resource managers; Take prompt corrective action when there are actual or potential variations from plans; Monitor internal controls on an ongoing basis and implement procedures to improve inefficiencies.
