An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Mechanic to be part of our valuable team on our Mornington Peninsula Shire Contracts.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Carry out the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment as directed.
- Assist with the day to day co-ordination of workshop supplies and parts procurement including stock control.
- To provide technical support to the team (whole contract) in the areas of maintenance services repairs/replacement of plant and equipment.
- Ensure that plant and equipment is fully utilised and that plant maintenance costs are kept within budgetary constraints.
- Assist with the maintenance of a preventive maintenance program for plant and equipment and review items of plant to be replaced.
- Create and maintain maintenance work orders for plant and equipment. Provide feedback to ensure all jobs or purchases are entered into the SAP system / Vehicles Database.
- Assist with the co-ordination of workshop activities.
- Work to the Quality system, ensuring maintenance activities are undertaken in such a manner as to maintain quality processes.
- As part of a team recommend/provide solutions to non-conformances.
- Implement and have input into the Quality and HSE System and participate in Tool Box meetings.
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Trade Qualification (minimum cert 3 in Motor Mechanics).
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in both Diesel and Petrol engines preferred.
- Administration skills including scheduling of works, service logs, time management, plant history, statutory maintenance and parts acquisition.
- Previous experience with EPV's wood chippers, diesel trucks, tractors, mowing equipment and minor plant and equipment will be considered favourably.
- Experience in, or aptitude towards, hydraulics, auto electrical, welding, minor fabrication and the maintenance and servicing of minor plant and equipment.
