This Operations Accountant role is an exciting opportunity to join a finance team with a fantastic culture in a multi-national, high-growth renewable energy company.
Client Details
My client are based in Central London are a leading renewable energy company. Their key shareholders are supporting a long-term growth strategy designed to them one of the largest renewable energy investors. Their portfolio currently comprises of over 40 SPVs globally.
Description
This role reports into the Operations Manager; you will be a key member of the finance team responsible for end-to-end running of the accounting processes for the UK SPVs.
The role will be incredibly hands on and broad but your key responsibilties will include:
All aspects of the production of ledgers, including the preparation of account reconciliations, analysis of balance sheet and profit & loss items and revenue management.
- Maintain adequate books & records: including journal posting, month-end close, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconcilliations;
- Business partner with the asset managers and deal with their requests;
- Monitor monthly performance to budget, conduct variance analysis and provide commentary;
- Oversee the land leases including the self-billing process;
- Oversee the SPV commercial contracts management;
- Reviewing financial benefits of possible projects;
- Act as the point of contact for the external and internal auditors and assist them in preparing the annual financial statements;
- Being in charge of cashflow;
- Preparing quarterly/semi-annual reports as required;
- Lookatadhoc projects to help drive improvements within the business
Profile
As the successful candidate you will:
- Previous exposure to renewable energy, property, oil and gas or similar backgrounds;
- Good standing knowledge of IFRS and financial concepts;
- Demonstrative exposure to working with multiple key business stakeholders;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fluid environment and be able to use your initiative;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
