Commercial Accountant

A unique and unusual role which presents an exciting prospect for those coming from a practice or, more particularly, corporate finance background: Axon Moore is recruiting for an up and coming venture capitalist business based in the Wakefield area for a newly created Commercial Accountant’s role.
The business has supported more than £100m worth of projects over the last 3 years and, having expanded its network, now seeks a new commercially focused addition to the team.

The role offers a wide-ranging remit with rare exposure. The primary focus of the role will be to analyse the proposals that are presented to the business, including asset backed lending opportunities, equity investments and short-term bridging finance. Attraction of new lending opportunities and identification of target acquisitions are also key elements. The role also assists with the acquisition process, including co-ordination of due diligence reports. Other duties include performance & KPI reporting,review of accounts and payroll of the other group companies, commercial support to senior staff and the full production of statutory and management accounts.

The best fit for this role will be a candidate from a practice background, likely ACA qualified but could be from a CIMA/ACCA background with relevant experience for the role. The role would be well suited to a Corporate Finance or Asset Based Lending Advisory background, but the real key to the role is finding the right character and personality fit. With the nature of the role, excellent communication and presentation skills are essential. Confidence and an air of presence are key whilst managing multiple projects, potentially on a independent basis. Furthermore, the ability to develop and manage relationships will be a must have for this position.
