Our client is recruiting on behalf of a long-established and very successful privately owned business. To assist in their further development and continued growth they now require an experienced Finance professional to provide strong financial leadership and critical input to the strategic development of the business.

Reporting to the MD, you will become a key member of the senior management team with the clear objective of adding value, helping shape the business and driving performance. As the Financial Director, you will have full responsibility for the company’s financial management, control, reporting and management information. This is very much an all-round finance role, leading a small team of 4, with wider involvement in all aspects of the business including areas such as IT/Business Systems and HR.

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with sound business acumen and a track record of success in driving business performance. Sector experience is less important, but you will need to be technically strong and comfortable at both the "hands on" and strategic level. The role will appeal both to an experienced Finance Director as well as an ambitious Financial Controller looking to take the next step.

Cultural fit within a privately owned business is very important and you will possess a down to earth personality. In terms of personal qualities, you will need to be proactive, passionate and forward looking with excellent interpersonal skills and capable of building good working relationships at all levels.
