You develop the internal audit plan using an appropriate risk-based methodology by reviewing the control environment which includes head office oversight, policies and procedures, code of conduct, delegation of authority and segregation of duties. You will review the business process controls in the various departments including Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, Private Banking, Treasury, Investment Banking, Operations, Compliance, Risk Management, HR & Support Administration and Finance & Accounting Department.

You provide individual audit results to the appropriate management on a timely basis and summary reports to the management using agreed reporting criteria. You will submit internal audit risk assessments and internal audit plan for the audit committee's inputs and approval; and will monitor the management's process for ensuring compliance with the organization's code of ethics. You will periodically review the process for receiving, retaining, and treating complaints about accounting and auditing matters.

You will assist the management in fulfilling their responsibilities regarding financial reporting and internal control assertions and certifications. You will ensure that the audit quality of the internal audit function is in adherence with the International Standards for The Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

You will provide periodic reports to the management and other committees as relevant; summarizing the status of the Audit Plan and results of audit activities, as well as details of significant issues identified. You will monitor regulatory changes or new market conditions for new and emerging risks resulting from changes in the current market impacting the Branch's businesses. You will review the impact on the proposed audit plans and ensure that coverage is re-prioritized, where appropriate.

You will review new policies issued by the Head Office to assess the impact on the proposed audit plans and will ensure that coverage is re-prioritized, where appropriate. You will coordinate with the Head Office Internal Audit team, external auditors (including ad hoc projects / special audits) and MAS inspectors to make sure that audit is executed in an efficient and effective manner. You will submit audit findings from the Head Office in relation to the Branch's business and operation in Singapore to MAS.

You will monitor the management's corrective actions to resolve issues identified by internal auditors, external auditors and the regulators and will develop an internal tracking report for outstanding audit issues and will highlight items with significant risk.

Pre-requisites:

  • Degree holder and CPA, CIA or CFSA certificate holder preferred
  • At least 3 - 5 years of audit experience in the banking industry or external audit firms
  • Experience in credit audits or trade finance audit is an advantage
  • Possess strong understanding of the audit methodology
  • Able to work independently and requiring little supervision
