An award winning office interior design company are looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk into their accountancy function during an exciting time of expansion and growth for the company as they are acquired by a multinational company.

Our client provides office interior design, whose offices are located in Central London. They are award winning receiving accolades of late most notably from The Independent.

Description

Purchase Ledger Clerk Responsibilities:

CIS TAX Register & verify new sub-contractors with the HMRC

Update controls in project management software

Completion of monthly online return for HMRC to be agreed to Sage

Produce and distribute monthly CIS statements to suppliers

Payment to HMRC, as per monthly return.

Purchase Ledger Identify all COS invoices and match to purchase orders.

Enter all invoices into project management software with correct nominal codes ensuring all COS are allocated to a project number for job costing.

Weekly print of payment run for accounts due to be paid. Directors to authorise payments.

Raise cheques or BACS payments as necessary

Identify accounts for discount and ensure paid to terms and discount taken.

Agree supplier statements as received

Liaise with PMs and suppliers in order to resolve queries

Set up new Purchase Ledger accounts in project management software and transfer into Sage. Ensure approval of PQQ forms, H&S Policies and insurance policies and checking financial statement.

Bank Daily reconciliation of bank statements including entry of direct payments and receipts to produce daily cash book balance. Daily banking reporting.

File statements and banking report daily.

Month End Bank Reconciliation - reports printed and filed for audit.

Expenses Ensure signed by a Department manager, Pay via BACS, enter into Sage ledger.

The successful Purchase Ledger Clerk candidate:

Experience

  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of basic Accounting concepts, preferably within purchase ledger.

  • Good Excel skills i.e Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF formulas. (Bonus)

  • Studying or looking to study towards a professional qualification, e.g. AAT.

Qualities

  • Great communication skills; in person, in writing and on the phone.

  • Extremely driven, energetic and proactive

  • Proactive and able to show initiative to constantly improve AP processes.

  • Well organised, methodical and conscientious.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Works well under pressure and to deadlines

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.

  • Eager to help out and get involved.
