VAT Accountant

A unique opportunity for an experienced VAT expert who also has an interest in gaining corporate tax experience. As VAT accountant you will be part of a growing team and business with operations in Ireland and internationally. About the position Review the monthly/bi-monthly Irish VAT, VIES, Intrasat returns. Completing monthly VAT reconciliations/journals and liaising with the finance department in relation to any inconsistencies. Manage a number of VAT projects Advising on the VAT implications of commercial transactions Preparing reports, opinion letters and memos on VAT advisory issues for the business Assist Tax Manager/Head of Tax with submissions to Revenue in respect of VAT matters and assist with ongoing submissions to Revenue Keep VAT processes up to date and relevant. Reviewing VAT legislation and conducting VAT research (both domestic and international) to apply to specific circumstance and context. Work with the Tax analyst to improve VAT processes. Assist the tax manager with the preparation of the annual Tax return and workings and the corporate tax accounting for statutory and quarterly group reporting. Support the tax manager with other corporate tax matters. About the person Qualified Chartered Tax Advisor. Accounting experience desired. Minimum of 3-4 years experience in a VAT role within practice and/or industry. A specialism in VAT is essential. Excellent attention to detail and teamwork skills. High degree of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels. Must be self-motivated and possess excellent organisational and project management skills. Experience with an ERP system (Oracle) is highly desired. Strong proficiency in excel is required.
