Description
You will be a senior member of the Accounting team, taking primary responsibility for Fixed Asset and Capital Accounting as well as undertaking Treasury activities. The post holder will collaborate with key stakeholders and undertake a range of developmental project work to ensure that new processes and procedures are developed and implemented, improving financial controls and reporting.
The post holder will proactively identify areas where reporting can add value and support the achievement of strategic business objectives.
The post holder will be able to optimise return on investments, inform decision making in respect of Capital investment and provide advice on investments. The post holder will review cash management systems.
The post holder will build networks with internal and external providers, such as banks, financial advisors, senior management, internal and external auditors, operations managers and budget holders and will be expected to negotiate and influence decisions.
The post holder will take the lead responsibility in oversight of capital grant claims to ensure all relevant compliance issues and outputs are appropriately recorded and grants are claimed in a timely manner.
The post holder will be accountable for all specific responsibilities assigned, whilst maintaining a flexible and responsive approach to all Finance needs.
Profile
The successful candidate will be:
- A qualified accountant
- Experience on Fixed Assets Accounting - from creating an asset to depreciating it
- Capital Accounting - Large Building and Estates Projects, working with budget holders, producing reports, working with Quantity Surveyors. A good understanding of a capital estate.
- Treasury and cash management duties
- Lead and control the preparation of Capital funding bids (this is not borrowing) but grant funding that we receive - ensure that bids are fully compliant and returns are complete
- SAP finance system
- Working with a team but also ability to use own initiative
- Able to do Net Present Value/Cost model calculations
Job Offer
£41,000-£48,000 with generous holidays, pension and flexible working model
