Our client has significantly enhanced its risk management and reporting framework and is in need of an Interim Risk Advisor to cover the work of their current employee who is going on sabbatical.

They have helped over £6million children through their education programs and over £22million children through their on the ground work.
As an organisation they are committed to effective risk management as integral part of strategy, planning, management, decision-making and learning lessons. The nature of their work (including particularly our commitment to operate in conflict-affected and fragile states with poor governance environments, and in humanitarian emergencies) exposes them to risks which must be managed and mitigated.
Description
The Interim Risk Manager will manage implementation of our key risk processes and provide functional leadership to a network of risk champions across the organisation for 4-6 months during the sabbatical leave of the substantive post holder.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate a network of Divisional risk champions to update our organisational risk registers, and provide quarterly risk reporting to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board. Support the organisation to identify and take appropriate mitigation action against emerging risks.
- Support teams in implementing our risk policies and procedures, including conducting risk assessments as necessary for projects, initiatives and events.
- Support risk owners of our Principal Risks to deliver mitigation plans to ensure risks are within appetite.
- Ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities for risk management, as set out in our Risk Policy and Procedures.
- Represent the organisation in the network of risk professionals across the movement, to share best practice and manage shared risks.

Profile
- ACA/ACCA/IIA Qualified
- Proven Risk Management skills
- Proven Risk Implementation skills
- Experience working with an NGO/Charity/not for profit body
- Either an Accounting Practice or In-House Risk Management/Internal Audit background
- Ability to liaise with key stakeholders
- Proven understanding of Risk Frameworks
- DBS checked
