Department Description

The CIB Chief Data Office (CDO) is accountable for transforming the approach to managing data to create an industry-leading data environment in terms of control, cost, and efficiency. The program scope continues to evolve and encompasses cultural, behavioral, procedural and systemic transformation across the full range of data domains (such as reference, market and transaction).

Background

The successful candidates will join a team focused on transformation of data quality management within the CIB and be responsible for supporting the strategy and execution of Chief Data Office's initiatives.

The role will require working with stakeholders across the CIB, looking to leverage best practice across the industry and other J.P. Morgan business units.

Key roles and responsibilities:


  • Implement the CIB Data Quality Standards


    • Influence the design and contribute to the implementation of the DQ standards and processes.


    • Liaise with the Firmwide and CIB CDO teams to develop DQ in context of the wider data governance process, e.g. data ownership, data sourcing, metadata and definition.



  • Implement and enforce the Data Quality (DQ) Management practices across the CIB:


    • Accelerate data quality issue level root cause analysis and resolution through effective program governance, process management and issue level X-LOB triage


    • Communicate and train CIB staff on DQ principles and process.


    • Liaise with SMEs across the LoB within the CIB on DQ issues to ensure timely resolution


    • Review the DQ issue input to ensure it is of adequate


    • Conduct DQ thematic reviews, to establish systematic DQ problems



  • Prove the Data Quality and discover DQ issues through profiling and testing :


    • Liaise with the DQ testing team and co-ordinate with LoBs to perform DQ profiling, develop DQ rules and co-ordination DQ testing and analysis.


    • Translate DQ profile and test results into DQ issues.



  • Perform project management and business analysis on other data related projects as required.
Skills Required



  • Project management and Business analysis experience.


  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Strong practical experience of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc


  • Experience of Data Governance principles would be advantageous


  • Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) & influencing skills to MD level


  • Confidence in communicating internally at all levels; candidate will be dealing with stakeholders of varying degrees of seniority (up-to Managing Director level) across Corporate/Firmwide, Finance, Risk, Compliance , Operations and Technology teams.


  • Effective change management skills. Ability to support & adopt within a changing environment.


  • Self starter, able to work autonomously, with strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high standard


  • Basic understanding of the company's business practices and familiarity with the company's products and services


  • Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture
