Group Accountant

A Group Accountant position within a growing Financial Services company based in Londons West End.

The position offers a great opportunity to get full exposure to the finance function as well as progressing with the companies growth.

Client Details

My client is an investment management company specialising in the energy sector.

They currently have 4 main funds internationally totalling over £400M, recently they have taken on 2 new funds with a combined value of £750M.

Description

Principal duties:

• Assist the Financial Controller with all day-to-day duties for Management Companies, including:
• Bookkeeping for all the UK entities
• Monthly payment run
• Bank reconciliation
• Processing employee expenses through payroll
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Preparation of FCA returns (quarterly, semi-annual)
• Assist with year end closings (consolidated)
• Preparation and coordination of the audit process
• Assist in preparing consolidated quarterly reports for board meetings
• Intercompany reconciliation
• Liaising with overseas offices to review monthly Management Accounts
• Ad hoc reports to be prepared
• In relation to the Energy Efficiency Fund:
• Make sure that monthly, quarterly and annual reports are correct and delivered to investors
• Preparation of specific reports for some investors (pipeline, rolling cashflow forecast, etc)
• Review Drawdowns and Distributions and make sure that they are send to investors on time
• Review Management Fees calculations
• Ensure all invoices are processed, approved and paid on time for services received
• Tax returns are prepared
• All SPV companies are registered for VAT and Vat returns are done
• Annual reports are filed
• Share capital and Loan registers are kept up to date
• Supervise work of Fund Administrators
• Liaise with the deal managers to ensure smooth handover of deal documentation post deal completion
• Obtain updated commentary on all deals from deal managers to prepare monthly/quarterly accounts
• Report to the Financial Controller

Profile

Requirements:

• Accountant who is at Finalist level of ACCA or CIMA
• Minimum 3 Years experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of SAGE accounting software
• Experience within Private Equity desirable
• Experience within the energy sector desirable

Job Offer

£35,000-£45,000 + Bonus + Benefits which include study support.
