The Role A vacancy exists for a Project Accountant within PM Group's Finance Department for a minimum two year contract to support a number of new Ireland and Western European projects. The position will be based in either Cork or Dublin and will involve some European travel. The role will provide financial management, commercial performance and analytical support to the business and project teams while also having direct responsibility for the setup of new finance processes and procedures in new Geographical Regions Main Responsibilities include : Assessing commercial performance of projects and reporting on same Reconciliation of third party project costs on a monthly and weekly management of same Completing monthly business and project cashflow forecasts Liaising with the project teams and project managers on a continuous basis and addressing commercial issues from a project and risk point of view Providing comprehensive, high quality analysis to aid and support business decision makers both at a local and group level Completing monthly reconciliations of specific Balance Sheet accounts including Banks, Debtors, Inter-Company, Revenue Accruals and Deferred Revenue Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts in accordance with strict deadlines Preparing the Financial Accounts on a quarterly basis in accordance with strict deadlines. Managing and maintaining a local payroll Involved in the preparation and submission of local tax returns and ensuring compliance. Responsibility for annual and client audit activities Ad hoc requests Minimum Requirements: Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with 3 years post qualification experience with a hands on commercial attitude Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills Strong finance experience Proven track record of providing commercial support to Operations Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge. Excellent interpersonal skills, in particular communication and facilitation skills at all levels Demonstrated experience of implementing and documenting new processes and workflows Good computer literacy with practical knowledge of and experience of large systems, ideally in a service organisation Knowledge of best practice analytical concepts and reporting with emphasis on project revenue recognition, profit reporting, performance measurement and cost control Ability to build internal business relationships, to ensure that all business decisions are made in conjunction with sound financial and analytical appraisal Experienced ERP user, proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, previous experience of Agresso Business World would be an advantage Highly organised, self-motivated with excellent analytical skills
