Department Description
The Asia-Pacific Compliance division ("CPLE"), has a local presence in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan (110+ staff in total). Our primary focus is to support GBIS activities. In practice, the scope of CPLE includes:

Monitoring the compliance with banking and financial regulations, including rules covering customer protection; -
Monitoring compliance with rules aiming at protecting the integrity of organized markets; -
Executing or execution monitoring of some regulatory declarations (transaction, shareholding threshold crossing, etc.); -
Coordinating the KYC system; -
Supervising the AML/TF organization, and declaring AML suspicion to the local relevant authorities; -
Preventing the reputation risk; -
Declaring the "compliance malfunctions" (if any) to the bank supervision authority; compliance malfunctions are significant breaches of the above-mentioned regulations or problems generating a reputation risk.
Mission
Change Management and Projects
The candidate will directly manage or contribute to deploying the key projects in the Asia-Pacific region and lead the execution of these projects for Asia-Pacific Compliance. This includes primarily:
Directly managing key regulatory and or tax projects (FATCA, CRS, 871(m), GDPR, ABC)
- Liaise with global coordinators if expertise is required
- Develop a sound knowledge of regulatory frameworks for each country / jurisdiction
- Advise and supervise the development of written policies, processes and procedures to include local specificities
- Advise on the definition and monitoring of permanent supervision and other controls around projects
- Advise on training supports and monitor staff training
- Ensure that governance and escalation workflows are in place
- Be responsible for coordinating projects, defining the appropriate methodology and governance to report status and roadblocks to regional and global sponsors
- Ensure deliveries are made on time, within the budget allocated and that project is executed in line with Regulator's and internal requirements and timeline
- Build and drive the relevant working group to synchronize on deliverables and planning
- Support change management (training , procedures documentation) for the impacted teams
- Ensure all documentations (key working documents and exhaustive list of deliverables) related to the project are properly stored and shared
Contributing to the performance management of compliance
- Occasionally contribute to the general management of compliance department (reporting, management control, analyses, surveys, communication)
- Work towards embedding a culture of 'projects' in the advisory teams (awareness sessions, tips and tricks, trainings)
- Ensure projects run smoothly, including after go-live
- Help prepare senior management meetings and regulators certifications (coordinate with relevant parties, challenge inputs and facts)
- Ensure the role of Compliance as Responsible Officer is explained and understood by all parties (RACIs in place and effective)
