Procurement Manager, Job Ref. JO2903 Co. Tyrone Permanent Competitive Salary Full Time Hours Our client specialises in the manufacture of food products using cutting edge technology and production processes and due to ongoing growth, they have a requirement a key post in their production facility in Northwest Tyrone. Job Purpose: To manage procurement within the company, using excellent negotiating and networking skills to ensure the company is buying the best quality equipment, goods and services at the most competitive prices. Core Duties and Responsibilities: -Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality. -Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers. -Identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them. -Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided. -Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future. -Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities. -Giving presentations about market analysis and possible growth. -Developing a purchasing strategy. -Producing reports and statistics using computer software. -Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors. -Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives  Attending meetings and trade conferences. -Training and supervising the work of other members of staff. -Implementation of service level agreement and contractual agreements with all suppliers. -Reviewing and challenging current processes and making enhancements which ensure positive progress for the role and the business. Criteria: -Ideally you will have graduated from a Purchasing or Business based degree and have knowledge/ experience in FMCG. -You should have extensive knowledge of the meat/ poultry industry and strong commercial skills and financial awareness, capable of building persuasive business cases. You should also have: -Excellent facilitation, influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills. -Powerful communication skills, able to establish and maintain relationships at all levels within the business and our suppliers. -You should be a self-starter, able to work autonomously and engage key people at all levels. -You should have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel). -You should be flexible and able to perform in a fast moving constantly changing environment.
