A fantastic opportunity to become the Financial Controller of an exciting Fast Growth Company based just outside Cardiff. The role will be responsible for the leadership of the Finance Function with progression opportunity to become the Finance Director in the future.

Description

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day management of the finance team, supporting the budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes, supporting ongoing system improvement initiatives
  • Delivery of the monthly financial reporting and management information for the business unit along with associated commentary, analysis and recommendations.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team and Board of Directors to challenge the numbers so that the business has accurate information from which to make strategic decisions
  • Ability to help with the development of key finance staff, as well as combining a strong hands-on accounting/control background with an eye for the bigger picture.
  • Production of statutory accounts for a number of different entities
  • Close liaison with senior management team and Board members to ensure robust financial data
  • Support in all aspects of financial management and control.
  • Drive a culture within the team to ensure quality deliverables and to streamline processes and controls
  • Ensure that all information provided is concise, practical and value-added
  • Support in managing the external relationships with advisors such as the auditors

Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a progressive track record of success, ideally including leadership experience within a fast moving, forward thinking organization.
  • Possess strong proven analytical/technical capabilities, together with a strong accounting/control background.
  • Strong intellect as well as ability to communicate and influence at all levels and work cross functionally.
  • Strong Excel and system skills which promote efficient working.
  • Accurate and attentive to details.
  • Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Fully conversant with UK statutory reporting and taxation requirements.
  • Generates genuine enthusiasm and commitment to key business priorities and acts as a compelling role model.
  • Demonstrates genuine desire to develop self and others
  • Personalities are likely to be emotionally resilient, energetic, positive/can do, with the drive and ambition to succeed; prospects for progression are excellent.
