Tax Accountant - Global Firm Client: VANRATH is pleased to be recruiting for a Tax Accountant on behalf of a global Law firm who are actively expanding their finance team in Belfast and are keen to strengthen their finance team with a Tax Accountant who is keen to make a move into a large corporate and professional Organisation offering excellent experience and a fantastic working environment. Responsibilities: -Primary responsibility for the management of all non-UK partner tax reserve balances. -Establishment, ongoing maintenance and revaluation of tax reserves balances held in foreign currencies. -Liaising with finance teams globally to reconcile and ensure accurate posting of international tax payments. -Ongoing review and reconciliation of individual partner international tax reserves, including processing of any necessary adjustments. -Undertaking deferred tax calculations to ensure that the correct equity adjustments are made. -Preparation of annual UK DTR claims for the UK resident partners, together with subsequent revisions as necessary following amendments to non-UK tax liabilities. -Liaising with international offices, tax authorities and individual partners as necessary to arrange payments/refunds in respect of any residual balances. -Involvement in year end work processes, including assisting with year end reconciliations, tax reserve and tax equalisation calculations. -Involvement in other ad hoc projects, such as modelling work in relation to .proposed restructurings. Recent examples include projects such as analysing the impact of potential alternate -European structures in response to changes in the UK marginal tax rate and the costing of various US tax planning strategies. The Ideal Person: The successful candidate will be an experienced and qualified Accountant with strong analytical and IT skills, particularly MS Excel and Word and the ability to adapt to unfamiliar packages. You will be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage large volumes of information, able to work effectively using own initiative and as part of a team and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with overseas offices and advisers. You must also be able to demonstrate proven ability to provide a high level of 'client service' and wiliness to travel to London and further afield if required.
