This legal cashier role will provide Client account legal cashiering services within the Financial Operations Department ensuring compliance with SAR's and internal controls.

Description
As the Legal Cashier you will be responsible for the following:
Daily review of the office and client account bank statements in all currencies to review incoming funds
Identifying and allocation of incoming cash without delay
Application of internal AML procedures to cross reference payee
Raising payments on a daily basis and ensuring the timely release by appropriate RBS Bankline authorisers
Support to other cashiers making payments of professional disbursements
Preparing daily/weekly client account bank reconciliations
Prepare and process CHAPS, BACS and International Payments as directed and without delay ensuring correct authorisation is provided
Promptly deal with aged client account balances ensuring overpayments are followed up to return funds
Chasing up unidentified monies on a timely basis following internal procedures through to rejection of funds if funds cannot be homed.
Preparing daily banking of incoming cheques and posting the same
To ensure that financial transactions are processed in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules 2011
Arranging for partners or senior managers signatures on payments as per our bank mandate as required
Checking the earmarking report, transferring and posting client to bill, client to disbursements and nominal to nominal transfers in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules
Core point of contact for client account transactions
Assist with internal/external audits, including annual SAR audit
Profile
To be considered for this Legal Cashier role you must have the following:
- Extensive knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules is essential
- Educated to A level / GCSE standard or equivalent
- Experience working as a Legal Cashier in a law firm
- Previous experience of working in a multi currency environment
- Experience of Aderant Expert/Elite desirable
