Exciting and process driven Banking Accountant/ Clerk role based in Peterborough with a leading employer of choice looking for someone to start next week and to have the ability to hit the ground running in compliant international payment approval processes and banking across multiple currencies.

My client are an employer of choice with parking on site in the centre of Peterborough. This role is part of a structured finance function and have strong banking processes for which they are needing someone next week to add value to. This company have a great culture of rewarding loyalty and hard work if for contractors coming in they have been known to look internally as to roles on a permanent basis if someone so wishes to extend their time with them.

Description

Outline of the Banking Accountant/ Clerk duties and responsibilities;

• Performing weekly bank reconciliations for foreign currency accounts including GDP, EURO, USD and various others.
• Assisting in approval of foreign payment journals ensuring all required sign offs and paperwork is in place.
• Submitting payments for approval within several banking systems including the likes of Barclays and Santander
• Producing daily banking logs for sales ledger to process.
• Assisting divisions with forward currency requests ensuring all applicable signatories have been received.
• Processing settlement of forward currency contracts ensuring correct ledger entries have been made.
• Monitoring position of foreign currency intercompany loan accounts taking action to clear these down each period end.

Profile

Banking Accountant/ Clerk experience and capability

• Immediately available or one no more than 1 weeks notice
• Strong banking experience dealing with international payments
• Experience of following detailed compliant banking processes
• foreign currency exposure
• experience of general ledger postings
• Reconciliations expertise
