Careers Sign In Home Submit Resume About Us Enquiries Design Engineer - 3 Month Contract Wacol QLD, Australia ApplySave Type:Contract Category: Service, Maintenance & Trades - OtherReference ID:RC000711Date Posted:20/02/2018 Excellent Company CultureWork with great technologyGreat varietyHitachi Construction Machinery's Mining Support Group plays a key role globally in supporting our major customers by ensuring the link between customer, dealer and factory across our range of mining and construction products.In this 3 month contract role with a possibility of extension, you will play a vital role in one of the company's current projects by providing design and drafting support in the development of key components for Hitachi mining machines.Reporting to the Group Engineering Manager, you will be required to: Apply sound technical design solutions to develop new products for various site based mining equipment using the 3D drawing packageIdentify and manage the requirements of the specified job acquiring measurements from existing machines to produce accurate and detailed fit for purpose designsManage risk and participate in design reviews and be open to change throughout the design processProduce accurate detailed technical drawings, part file exports and electronic files to allow the seamless flow of manufacturing of piece parts componentsUse the drawing program and functions to document and present clearly designs in the form of Operation & Maintenance Guides - Exploded views and pictorial guidesCollaborate, communicate, work with and present a professional appearance in dealings with all internal and external stakeholdersProcure components and manage vendors for time lines and qualityTo be successful you will need:Mechanical Engineering and/or Drafting Qualifications.Demonstrable experience with SolidWorks including Sketches, Parts, Assemblies, Technical Drawings and Finite Element Analysis.Previous experience in the design and drafting of Mining or similar equipmentManufacturing and materials experience.Risk management and QA process experience desirable.Enthusiasm with a high attention to detail and a liking for problem solving.Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.
