Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Economics or Finance plus 5 to 7 years of directly related experience preferably in a government financial environment.

Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience

Experience as member of Navy Program contractor team a plus.

Skilled in use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Hands–on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of financial spreadsheets.

Experience working in or with a government budget office is highly desired.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

A SECRET security clearance is required for employment.


Position Summary

Under general supervision, develops plans, schedules and budgets to meet contractual requirements for a portion of a program. Develops approaches for improving program planning, control, and execution.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide financial and program management support to the Program Executive Officer Ships Fleet Support, Director of Business and Finance (PEO Ships FP), Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC.

Uses quantitative analytical techniques to assess program process issues and develop risk reduction/mitigation approaches for improving program planning, control, and execution.

Prepare/analyze funding/execution reports.

Interact with Senior Level Military and Government officials, participate in communicating status to upper level management, review, design and implement process changes.

Serves as a resource for resolution of problems.

Develops documentation, reports, and project plans and prepares and may present briefings and staff seminars.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
