Description

To provide analysis to understand the variances to our plan and determine the key drivers, communicating this to the wider business (UK and Europe)

*To business partner cost centre owners, managing the UK's fixed costs

*To be the owner of capex, supporting with the creation and review of forecasts & business cases as well as post implementation analysis and reviews

*To help manage the budget and forecasting process ensuring they are delivered on time and with the right level of detail

*To support UK Finance and the wider business by providing the information they need along with insights to make the decisions to ensure the on-going success of the business

Month end reporting

  • During the close process the analyst liaises with the Financial Shared Service Centre (FSSC) to obtain updated income statements, making sure finance colleagues deliver the analysis from their areas on time. The analyst also consolidates all commentary, liaising with the rest of Finance to ensure full understanding of main variance drivers
  • Once the monthly income statement has been signed off by the Finance Director, the analyst completes the management KPI pack, pulling together data from sources across the business to brief the management team on company performance
  • We always seek to improve our reporting and the analyst plays a key role in driving this, as well as being responsible for consistency of reporting across Finance

Quarterly reporting

  • Quarter end requires further reporting for our brand and business reviews. The analyst produces the packs for review, liaises with the marketing business partner to understand marketing spend variances and then produces commentary on brand P&Ls

Budgeting and YTG forecasts

  • The analyst supports the Financial Controller with the budget and forecasting process, including overseeing the creation of the budget packs, ensuring partner functions deliver their parts on time, consistency of presentation, and that the commentary reflects key budget detail
  • The analyst is the Admin, and super user for master data in our forecasting tool (Adaptive Insights) and needs to manage effective communication with both Sales and Commercial Finance to manage the integrity of this data (users, customers, SKUs etc.)

Fixed Costs and Capex

  • The analyst leads on fixed cost business partnering, working closely with the cost centre owners, as well as managing the month end process to ensure all costs are correctly accounted for.
  • In addition, the analyst will be the main contact for any fixed costs analysis and will be the lead in preparing the fixed costs budget
  • Capex will be owned by the analyst, supporting the Financial Controller with the monthly UK reviews, and quarterly Europe reviews, ensuring all funds are requested and tracked effectively. This will also require working closely with the Supply Chain Business Partner

Profile

  • The ideal candidate will be a (CIMA/ACCA) Finalist however part qualified candidates also considered
  • Previous Commercial Finance / FP&A experience
  • Experience in a similar role highly desirable
  • Drive and ambition is required, as the role has significant exposure and is well placed to support future career advancement
  • Must be a self-starter with a solution driven approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with and communicate to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong Excel skills (SUMIF, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, etc.) and pivot tables.
  • SAP experience desirable but not essential

Job Offer
