Located in Arklow, Co. Wicklow Servier (Ireland) Industries Ltd is a manufacturer of finished pharmaceutical products primarily for the export market.  The Company employs 370+ staff, and is listed 111 th in the Irish Times ‘Top 1000 Companies'. Reporting functional to the Executive Vice President, Finance and Information Systems, and hierarchically to the Site GM, the Head of Finance and IS will be accountable for Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting Financial Accounting and Tax matters Compliance, Audit and Risk Management Management of all Financial and IS Systems Purchasing activities Key responsibilities will include - but are not limited to - Accounting - including Audit and the preparation of Financial Statements Ensuring the accuracy of Budgets and Forecasting Ensuring the site's financial performance across a variety of KPIs and Matrices Maintaining and developing ‘fit for purpose' IS systems and infrastructure, to include all aspect of IS user support Ensuring the continued performance of the Purchasing function Leading the Finance and IS team - 20 employees (approx.) Continuously enhance and evolve the practices and systems for both the Finance and IS departments Position Requirements A formal Accounting qualification (CIMA (or equivalent) is strongly preferred) A minimum of 10 years professional experience is required, with detailed exposure to budgeting in a Manufacturing environment Previous in-depth experience of Industrial operations is mandatory, as is an awareness of the challenges facing a Manufacturing site Successful team management experienced will also be required - ideally 7 years plus in a management role Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP (JDE or SAP) This is a role where the applicant must be able to demonstrate “subject matter” expertise in their area along with a strong understanding of the Pharmaceutical industry. In addition, to be successful in this role candidates will have well developed communication skills with an ability to build and maintain successful working relationships at all levels of the organisation. As she/he will be expected to provide advice, expertise and support to a diverse stakeholder group an ability to listen, and clearly communicate their position, will be required. Applicants will be business focused with proven leadership abilities.  Performance and management skills are required. Candidates will be flexible, adaptable and proactive - with a ‘can do' attitude, and high energy levels. Resilience is expected, as is an ability to successfully operate under pressure. Strong attention to detail, refined planning and organisation abilities with a proven track record of multi-tasking, working to tight deadlines and delegating successfully are essential. A hands-on, proactive approach will be required. Exposure to the management of IS activities, and in the management of change, would be an advantage.
