Description

  • End of end ownership of Mobile contract trading for Mobile finance
  • Communicating and articulating the financial impact of trading to non-financial stakeholders
  • Management and oversight of Finance Graduate and in turn ultimate responsibility for business partnering mobile operating costs
  • Lead on key Strategic Mobile Projects than span across multiple areas
  • External market analysis
  • Act as delegate for Head of Mobile Finance

It is a high profile role with regular exposure to senior management. The role works closely with several teams across the business, representing Mobile Finance, engaging in both day-to-day and more strategic discussions, working as a virtual member these teams.

The principle interactions outside of Finance which this role will expected to lead on are Commercial, Consumer Sales & Planning, Group Tax, Accounting policy, Consumer Strategy, and Investor Relations.

  • Business casing of all propositions and tariffs, which will include specific focus on end to end consideration of all mobile economics including but not limited to

  • Impact of network available headroom and associated network costs

  • Review of handset specific propositions

  • Impact of bad debt

  • Development of suitable template and framework for analysis
  • Tariff evaluations, review and analysis, drawing key implications and making recommendations for future actions
  • Challenge business assumptions, run-rate orthodox thinking and develop appropriately challenging targets
  • Proactively engage with the business at the earliest opportunity to develop and implement appropriate plans to optimise performance and take advantage of new opportunities
  • Focus on and drive the use of all available MI to understand and clearly articulate the key drivers of performance and sensitivities
  • Governance of annual budget and quarterly acquisition trading plan where relates to contract acquisition
  • Understanding, calculating and communicating accounting impact of changes to propositional structure
  • Business casing and optimising credit policy
  • Reviewing and assessing ROI of marketing campaign investments
  • Review, assessing and helping the business to optimise channel strategy
  • Work with the Mobile product strategy experts to develop a financial plan which appropriately monetises the business strategy

Profile

Significant experience within the telecommunications or a similar subscription based industry essential

Strong communication skills

Can distill and succinctly message a complex story to senior Exec level

Consistently initiating / driving change and process improvements across wider business

Ability to think quickly and operate under pressure

Strong analytical skills

Attention to detail

Process Management

Highly numerate

Excellent Excel skills
