A vacancy has arisen for the position of Finance Manager in the multi-contract site operating both open and closed book contracts in warehousing, transport and co-packing activities.

Description

  • Key challenges of the role include maintaining financial controls across all activities and contracts and in providing high quality, efficient financial information for both internal use and publication to the site's customers

  • Publication of Weekly Management Information for the site to incorporate P&L Accounts down to contract level as well as stats and productivity measures to assess the efficiency of the site and each contract against budgetary targets
  • Production of Period Reports by Contract for issue to each Customer for period review purposes, again containing detailed finance and statistical reports and trend analysis
  • Production of Period Reports by Contract for use in internal contract reviews with the Distribution Centre Manager, Commercial Manager and Contract Manager
  • To produce detailed quarterly forecasts and the annual site operating budget
  • To prepare customer budgets and forecasts
  • To manage the processes of reporting into Central Finance and to control reporting to ensure accuracy, with investigation of any variances
  • Managing the processes around the business and Customer Period End's in order that all deadlines are achieved
  • Tracking and Co-ordinating any site Continuous Improvement and Cost Saving Initiative
  • Being a key part of the site management team in delivering site initiatives and budgetary targets
  • Attendance and participation in regular site meetings such as Management Meetings and Health & Safety Meetings
  • Management and control of a number of site FM contracts
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager and Distribution Centre Manager as necessary and also working with fellow peers within the management team
  • To work with the Senior Finance Assistant in the production of the Weekly Management Accounts and to review processes and trends to ensure accurate control and reporting of costs

  • To review all Balance Sheet Accounts on a period basis to ensure all balances are reconciled and that no provision for liability exists
  • To set up, review and maintain the necessary financial controls in line with business guidelines
  • To play an active role in the Audit programme to ensure the site maintains compliance to the required standard

Profile

  • Flexibility and a high level of both self and team motivation are a must in what is a demanding multi-client operation
  • Demonstrate and possess an excellent and diverse range of PC skills
  • Qualified/ Newly Qualified: CIMA, ACCA, ACA.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work accurately under pressure, plus flexible to the needs of the business during key reporting periods
  • Have previous experience of managing a team and to demonstrate skills in developing and motivating a team
  • Ability to work under his/her own initiative as well as part of the management team
  • Experience in Logistics, supply-chain, FMCG industries
