As the Financial Controller your responsibility is to deliver financial and commercial support to the business in line with the company strategy.

You will be working for a leading software provider to the recruitment industry.

Description

  • Supporting, advising and reporting to the COO on all aspects of financial management of the group.
    Strategic direction, financial leadership, reporting and developing the business relationship with other group entities
  • Reviewing and where appropriate liaising with external organisations to improve internal accounting and admin systems (e.g. automated BACS, accounts software suppliers, employment law advisors) in conjunction with support where necessary provided by the Business Analyst
  • Review, design and implementation of improved departmental KPI reporting with the support of the business analyst
  • Review of the sales pipeline and monitoring ongoing business performance against targets for all group entities
  • Strategic and tactical advisory support for the group on the structure of sales deals
  • Provision of support and guidance on the group sales pricing policy
  • Sign-off responsibility for sales orders and sales contracts up to a specific size and complexity
  • Production of statutory and management accounts, consolidation to group level and in line with accounting standards and the financial reporting timetable
  • Production of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, variance reports (budget v forecast v actual)
  • Development and review of a business case process to support key expenditure and investment decisions.
  • Design, implementation and monitoring of group bonus scheme and sales team commission structures
  • Managing the corporate tax position
  • Producing audit files and liaising with the auditors to ensure financial statements are filed within the appropriate deadlines
  • Reviewing and implementing corporate governance and other legal requirements
  • Managing the finance, administration and internal process system teams
  • Set clear goals and plans to deliver the relevant and applicable internal/external financial and administrative objectives
  • Mentoring to develop the technical skills of the team members
  • Providing appropriate coaching and training of the finance and administration teams in accounting practices to deliver payroll, expenses, PAYE, VAT, month end accounts, sales orders, invoicing and credit control for all group entities
  • Succession planning to ensure appropriate progression

Profile

  • The successful candidate will be ACA qualified and have experience working in a small to medium sized business, as well as having the necessary skills and personality to work with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing a corporate finance function, producing statutory and management accounts and delivering sustainable finance management to the organisation
  • Managing and running an accounting system
  • Liaising with external organisations to improve internal systems
  • Ability to devise appropriate recording and reporting systems
  • Team management experience, with reporting responsibility
  • Computer literate e.g. Excel, Outlook and accounting packages
  • Involvement in running an SME
  • Knowledge of the recruitment industry

Job Offer

£60,000 - £65,000 per annum
