We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Staff Accountant position. The position is responsible for monthly close and financial reporting, journal entry preparation and postings including payroll, inventory and COGs, standard expenses, cash receipts, general journal and expense allocations. This successful candidate will work closely with various field operational personnel for both standard and ad hoc reporting requirements including the resolution of questions regarding published financial results.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews and analyzes preliminary financial results for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains and updates supporting schedules for general ledger account balances; investigates and resolves discrepancies.
- Works closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate and consistent processing of invoices
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred or accounting student nearing completion.
- Formal accounting experience with an emphasis on general ledger accounting is preferred but will consider candidates with a strong GPA and proven leadership through work and/or extracurricular activities.
- Strong skills with PC's, Excel and automated accounting systems. Experience with Peoplesoft is a plus.
- Excellent time management, oral and written communication, organizational and human relations skills.
