Senior Financial Analyst–Global Customs, Origin Team, General Motors, Detroit, MI. Analyze &forecast General Motors impact on income statement from importation of vehicles, productive components, machinery &eqpt, &aftersales parts, from free trade eligible countries to U.S., incldg import value, duty cost, &free trade import status (incldg country of origin, Harmonized Tariff Classification Schedule code), &consolidate financial information using Oracle Hyperion Legal Entity Profitability Analysis (LEPA) system. Lead cost reduction &parts classification projects &implement strategic duty drawback initiatives in customs, partnering with tax, finance &other business functions. Lead 2 external professional services providers to track imports &maximize free trade agreement benefits primarily for U.S. imports from eligible countries. Analyze &advise mgmt on import duty cost trends, risks &opportunities, providing financial anlys, consultation &decision–making support to customs &logistics. Coordinate cross–functional teams to track import duty costs (actual versus budget) for U.S. imports, mainly from NAFTA countries, Korea, Australia, Singapore &other dvlpg countries (part of the Generalized System of Preference list). Advise executives in tax, customs &logistics by dvlpg &presenting key performance metrics, using IBM Cognos, Tableau, Microsoft Access &Microsoft Power BI data analytics &financial models to identify trade inefficiencies. Master, Bus.Admin. or Finance. 12 mos exp as Financial Analyst or related, consolidating, forecasting &analyzing income statement for domestic &export sectors incldg vehicles, productive components, machinery &eqpt, &aftersales parts, using the Oracle Hyperion LEPA system.
