Our client is a global player in the pharmaceutical sector with a strong presence in North County Dublin. Description Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you'll be responsible for providing the business with valuable market intelligence insight to focus upon market and customer trends. This will involve using internal and external data. You'll highlight emerging variances to expectations and identify the impact and reasons for these variances. Skills required - data modelling, analysis and interpretation. Main duties: Work with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that the Sales and Marketing plans that are in place contain the latest financial and market information in order to input into the forecasting and budgeting processes. Produce monthly and quarterly reports capturing product performance for internal and external stakeholders. This will include validating and interrogating the data flows that create the reports. Support the business planning process, responsible for driving the sales and gross margin forecasting. Taking a lead on relevant business models ensuring they are fit for purpose and information from the new system flows succinctly. Monitoring and analysing sales data by sector (customer, hospital, tender, local, export, etc.) and product (per item, category etc.) Monitor financial performance, highlight trends across key performance indicators and analyse anomalies to identify root causation Proactively identifying trends in market data that help shape the product strategies and allow for maximum sales return. Tracking of monthly sales vs. forecast and reporting on results and variances Investigating and providing feedback on variances (customer mix, ASP variances, product variances) Develop and present sales financial packs, dashboards and monthly presentations Provide key business content to financial performance Profile Background The most important skill for this role is advanced Excel skills - Visual Basic in particular. Knowledge of Cognos,, Tableau, SAP Business Objects would be icing on the cake. This person will be presenting reports to senior management so needs to be comfortable communicating technical information to a non technical audience. You will also be communicating with a lot of sales and marketing people. Pharma sector experience is very attractive but not essential. You should have good numeracy skills and be able to quickly organise and analyse large quantities of data. Growing company, with opportunities in Ireland and overseas. Friendly.
