NRL are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a well–known global EPC company, for a Project Accountant for work on an initial 12 month contract basis in Winnersh. The successful candidate will be responsible for creation of project and operating unit variance reports and analysis to provide insightful actions to internal management stakeholders. Engagement in forecasting and business planning activities to assist management.

About the role:

– Delivery of client facing monthly sales invoices on a varied scale of size in accordance with contractual procedures.
– Relationship with internal service centre for them to create and reconcile client facing sales invoices
– Maintenance of contract ledgers including set up, commercial details, transaction controls, cost and management accounting, monitoring of financial results and unbilled.
– Identify financial risks within projects and communicate updates regularly.
– Support supervisor in wider month end process including overhead, operating unit performance results and key metric creation reports within strict deadlines.
– Ensure accurate financial P&L and project results in a rolling monthly fiscal cycle for own projects.
– Day to day liaison with Project Managers and other stakeholders regarding the financial accuracy, control and improvement of each contracts financial position.
– Attendance at key project reviews, sole finance representative, answering financial impacting questions, providing feedback to supervisor and controller
– Provide direct support to supervisor in building, analyzing and reviewing quarterly business forecasts and business plan generation.
– Significant excel tabular and graphical presentations to be built, reviewed and apply insightful concise information to operational leads
– Create monthly WIP & DSO reconciliations for review with Project Management and Supervisor.
– Assist supervisor in a range of adhoc excel driven financial analysis of projects and operating unit.
– Participation in Client, internal & statutory audits as required.
– Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Practices and Sarbanes–Oxley.
– Deputize for Project Accounting Manager at Operational Management Meetings including communication of financial information to senior management
– Support to other Finance staff as required & liaison with India Service Centre

What you will need:

Key requirements:

– Knowledge and experience of contract costing on a varied scale ideally in an engineering or professional services environment.
– Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of project & operations personnel including overseas.
– Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
– Able to manage a relationship through an external service centre
– Willingness to travel to project sites to review financials face to face with project teams

Desired Requirements:

– Familiarity with Oracle Financials
– Experience with US Sarbanes Oxley Procedures in a financial role
– Good telephone manner and interpersonal skills are very important.
– A self–starter able to work in a logical and methodical manner, whilst maintaining a meticulous approach to the detail.
– Strong Excel skills in both building and reviewing financial results, whilst being confident to articulate issues and reasonings for variance analysis.
