Client Details
Global organisation in the property sector looking to add a Property Accountant to their finance team.
Description
Preparing service charge statements and balancing charge invoices for tenants
Working with the regional finance teams to produce annual service charge reconciliations
Improving the recoverability of service charges and ensuring that an appropriate return is generated from service charge activity
Providing support to the regional finance and property admin teams with the general ledger and property ledger system
Preparing gross rents and property outgoings schedules each month by property and reconciling these to the general ledger
Preparing rolling forecasts for gross rents and property outgoings to the financial planning and analysis team
Assisting the regional finance teams with preparation of annual net rent budgets
Reviewing outgoings and ensuring that appropriate accruals and prepayments are posted to keep outgoings up to date each month and ensure that costs are well controlled, analysed and understood
Posting overhead and property related payments to the correct accounts and with the correct VAT codes within the general ledger
Preparation of turnover rent calculations and annual reconciliations and the related invoices
Providing an analysis of overhead expenditure and its coding to assist with procurement improvements and variance understanding
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting of overheads
Preparing and posting ground rents, rent guarantees, overage calculations
Principal contact for asset managers and surveyors
Posting month-end entries and preparing schedules required for month-end reporting, including reconciling control accounts
Review of sales ledger and bad debts each month
Profile
Part qualified with a recognised accountancy qualification (or by experience)
Experience in interacting with, working with and supporting operational teams
Strong system skills
