Criminal Investigator Tax Professional

This is an opportunity for you, as a tax professional who enjoys getting to grips with complexity, to train as a Criminal Investigator at one of the UK’s largest law enforcement agencies.

You will join a specialist counter-fraud team dedicated to protecting the vital funding for UK public services.  Carrying out investigations using criminal procedures and powers, you will obtain evidence that enables an independent prosecuting body to bring a criminal prosecution against suspected tax fraudsters. With a focus on those with offshore, corporate and wealthy tax affairs, you will investigate some of the most serious tax fraudsters, helping us to ensure no-one is beyond our reach.

As a qualified and experienced tax professional, you will bring a good knowledge of income tax, corporation tax and capital gains tax and understanding of complex offshore tax structures, as well as new ideas and different perspectives.  You will also quickly pick up new concepts and skills such as searching premises for evidence, assisting with interviews, and interrogating large amounts of evidence from diverse sources, making full use of your exceptional analytical and organisational skills. You will have access to cutting edge technology and digital tools,  and you won’t be alone as we  will provide the training and support you need to gain a Criminal Justice qualification and give your very best in this important role.

Investigation experience is not necessary, but you will need to have the enthusiasm to take on the challenges criminal investigation work brings.
